I am Esme.
I am a weaver of words. I am also a dreamer. I am an Irish-Hispanic living in a small, rural town in Maryland and working in a small, rural town in Pennsylvania.
I have been on a spiritual journey for a few years, and at the age of (almost) 55, I am finally learning who I am.
This journey saw me leaving a stable career of 23 years in the performing arts (digital marketing) and moving to a new town in a new state and working in a new industry for less money. I discovered I have PTSD. And you will read about, probably too many times if you choose to follow this blog, how much I love yoga and that yoga changed the trajectory of my life (among other things and people). I am a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, but I don’t teach yoga. The training has enhanced my healing journey in ways I never imagined it would.
I am in trauma therapy. And I am a grad student starting the journey to get my MSW so that maybe one day I will be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and can officially help people like myself.
I am an apprentice of The Way of the Seabhean (year 1). Maybe in a few years, I will graduate from that program as well.
I am a musician. I sing soprano and I play the piano. I am a dog and cat mom.
And I am writing this for me. Not for followers. Not to become an influencer. But because I am a writer that stopped writing for more than 30 years. And I need to write. Holding myself accountable to write SOMETHING at least once a week. Because it is necessary for my journey.
